Whether Huffer thinks she is qualified or not makes no difference. The County Clerk is supposed to work for the citizens of the County, not the Administrator nor the Commissioners. I am concerned about Hinton's ability to operate as an independent elected official. She is used to operating at the direction of the Commissioners - and once pushed by them, will she have the foresight and fortitude to tell them to back off? Remember there are two commissioners who only want to follow the state laws that they agree with.
