Stoller (Stoller Family Estate) took $1,147,339.94 in Covid Payroll Protection Program loans and never repaid it.

How do these billionaires make all that money and fight so hard to not pay taxes they could easily afford?

Income inequality is gaining steam and these guys/gals don't seem to notice how bad their behavior looks.

Oregonian, I’m not one to defend the ultra wealthy and their ability to avoid paying appropriate tax amounts, but this doesn’t seem to be that. And I’m not sure how the PPP loan has anything to do with this either. Those loans were forgiven by the government. Just because he can “easily afford it” doesn’t mean he should if he thinks the county is wrong. I wouldn’t pay a bill if I was sure the biller was wrong.

Let’s also not forget that the Stollers ended what could have been a horrible situation if an owner with no community connections had purchased the buildings. The Spruce Goose could easily be gone and the rest of the buildings might be sitting empty. They are investing millions of dollars to improve the buildings and assuredly not profiting. I’m very grateful for Bill Stoller and family.

Fighting the tax bill looks bad. Taking the free Covid funds looks bad. Both those actions are not congruent with charitably funding the museums - that's my point.

Yes, pay the bill…the county needs to refurbish the frivolous litigation fund! :)
