I agree. I was dubious about a move of this type for many years. The redistricting that occurred after the 2010 census, under Gov. Kitzhaber, was accomplished quickly and without controversy. Of course, that happened on the watch of a more balanced legislative assembly. With today’s one-party super majority, my concerns are greatly heightened and I think the proposed committee is a safer alternative.
