From the article, "Hill had last month crafted his resignation..."
Why is the NR still rewriting McMinnville's history thereby duping the readership?
Mayor Hill was "...crafting his resignation..." for several months unbeknownst to the general public-just a select few 'inner-circle comrades' knew of the Mayor's contrived exodus.
Mayor Hill decided to retire to Utah a long, long time ago. He built a retirement home so he could dutifully, honorably and lovingly provide care for an elderly relative. Mayor Hill's planned resignation from office occurred-over many months, not just a 'month' ago.
The NR intentionally kept the Mayor's retirement and resignation plans from public exposure despite the looming FY22-23 deficit. The putsch for more utopian development projects only served to exacerbate the spiraling decline the city's financial position.
As FY21-22 was hurriedly slipping into the ages, Mayor Hill and Council used [$1.8 Million inflationary dollars] from 'once-in-a-lifetime', allocation of COVID Funds derived from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) as a 'band-aid' to cover-up the 'hole' in the FY22-23 deficit.
The remainder of the FY22-23 deficit will be realized from the Property owners getting screwed with a [6%] increase in their 'Municipal Sewer Bills'. The imposition of [3%] increase in 'utility fees-graduated operational tariffs' on Cascade Steel and other 'high-electrical users' increases inflationary woes throughout the local economy and beyond.
So, what will the interim-Mayor bring to a responsible fiscal discussion? Fill in the blank _____.
What happens in FY23-24 if the same elected 'Dullards of the Dufi' are still in control?
McMinnvilleans will be justifiably doomed to repeat current history.

I laughed at the ironic juxtaposition of these two letters.
