Bring on the tiny lots, skinny streets, and cookie cutter housing that's now called affordable. Ugh.

Otis

It's either cookie cutter for horizontal developments or it's high rise apartment/condo for vertical developments.

Those are the only 2 options for affordable housing.

I wish there was a federal law that we could pass that would prohibit hedge fund companies from buying up residential real estate. They outbid first time buyers all the time for starter homes.

Median sales price in Mac is at $443K....down a bit....but still way high.

Don Dix

It's only been 30 years since this was the predicted outcome (cheaply built homes on expensive, small footprint lots) caused by those appealing each and every UGB expansion in McMinnville. It's a shame some only now are realizing the consequences of that misguided judgement.

This could cause some serious strain for some -- President Donald Trump says he wants to block large institutions from buying single-family homes, arguing that housing should belong to people, not corporations. Oh, oh!
