Firefighters battle brush fire in Sheridan

 Update: The Oregon Department of Forestry has taken command of the fire, and will be doing mop-up.

Firefighters are battling a one-acre brush fire in the 17200 block of Beck Road in Sheridan. The fire has gone to two alarms; wind is helping it to spread. Units have been called in from Willamina and Perrydale.

Firefighters believe they have succeeded in surrounding the fire.
