Wildland fire reported on Muddy Valley Road

Update, 2:08 p.m. The fire has been contained; crews continue to work on checking for and mopping up any remaining hot spots.

A wildland fire has been reported at 18500 block of SW Muddy Valley Road, after an apparently unattended burn pile ignited the area around it. Watch for fire engines if driving in the area. The state Forestry Department, Amity and Sheridan fire departments are responding.

Temperatures are predicted to be in the high 80s today.
