Linfield softball program hosts clinic

The Linfield College Softball Program is conducting an Advanced Skills Fastpitch clinic for girls ages 15-18 on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The clinic will stress the mental approach, physical fundamentals and advanced skills necessary to be successful at the highest levels of competition. The clinic format simulates a common pre-season college practice for the Wildcats and also includes a classroom session on “Hitting the Linfield Way.” The last portion of the day will be dedicated to a classroom talk on “Success Skills for College and Life” featuring a question-and-answer period with the Linfield coaches and players on preparing for college, the college recruiting and selection process and general college success skills.

The cost is $60 per person. Participants must either bring their own lunch or make plans to go off campus and purchase lunch. Players are asked to bring a water bottle and be prepared to be outside on the softball field or on turf, or inside on a rubberized surface if the weather were to force the clinic indoors.

For additional information, contact Linfield assistant head coach Staci Doucette by phone (360-989-5340) or email (sdoucet@linfield.edu).
