Long-time subscriber here. The reasons for the increases are all valid, but I'm afraid it's also starting to inch closer & closer to the plug-pulling time.

The quality of the newspaper in general has slowly but gradually declined, while the rates have risen. That's never a good sign.

I'm staying a subscriber for now, but we're fast-approaching a juncture where the decision will, unfortunately, make itself.

I can understand the perspective of the comment above this one, the cost of everything seems to be on the rise and I do appreciate the writer’s willingness to remain a subscriber. (An increase does not create undue stress on my budget but that is not true for everyone.)

I am alarmed by the loss of local news agencies across the country and grateful that our local paper has been so resourceful and tenacious in the face of multiple challenges. Many thanks to the N/R for this invaluable service, our community benefits greatly from your reporting. I will remain a loyal subscriber as long as you are able to publish.

I love the NR. The increase is not a big deal to me. It's worth it.

It’s easy to take the local newspaper for granted, since it has always been here. Communities around the country are losing their local newspapers and their primary source of independent information about what is happening locally. We are incredibly fortunate to have a locally owned newspaper that reports on important local issues like the recent articles on the landfill, three mile lane, and the board of commissioner meetings. We would be a much poorer community without the N-R.

I am grateful to have the News Register in our community. I will adjust my budget so I can continue my subscription.
