Wheatland Ferry closed due to high water
As of Jan. 20, the Wheatland Ferry is closed due to high water levels in the Willamette River south of Dayton.
The ferry, which carries vehicles and pedestrians across the river between Yamhill and Marion counties, closes when river levels reach 16 feet or higher. Recent rains have caused the river to rise beyond the closure point.
Normally, the ferry operates from 5:30 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. A recorded message about the ferry's status can be heard by calling 503-588-7979.
