Wildcats make quick work of Lewis & Clark

PORTLAND -- Austin D. Lee and Dylan Lewis returned interceptions for touchdowns and Bryan Cassil rushed for a team-high 82 yards and two touchdowns as Linfield cruised to a 59-7 victory over Lewis & Clark Saturday afternoon at Griswold Stadium.

Wildcats quarterback Sam Riddle's day was short; the sophomore completed all four passes he attempted for 102 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Poppen. Poppen returned the favor later by completing a 36-yard pass to Riddle; Matt Yarbrough and Tom Knecht combined to go 7-for-12 passing on the day.

Samuel Robinson rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown for Linfield (6-0, 4-0 NWC), while Tavon Willis scored on a 6-yard run to open the onslaught.

Lewis & Clark (0-7, 0-5 NWC) got on the board in the third quarter when quarterback Cody Rochon scored on a 43-yard touchdown run.

Linfield hosts Willamette on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.

Pacific 36, George Fox 0

NEWBERG -- Warner Shaw completed 11 of 17 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and the Boxers shut out the Bruins on the defensive end in Saturday's Northwest Conference game at Stoffer Family Stadium.

Grant Schroeder passed for 143 yards for George Fox (0-6, 0-4 NWC), with Brad Lander accounting for 84 of those yards. Pacific (4-2, 4-0 NWC) held the Bruins to 39 yards rushing on 33 carries in the game.

George Fox plays at Whitworth Nov. 1 at 12:30 p.m.
