Yamhill County overwhelmingly reelected the same elections clerk who forgot to put candidates on the ballot?
This is almost as pathetic as Pennsylvania Democrats reelecting Pennsylvania Rep. Tony DeLuca even though he has been dead for two months.

Elected, actually, not re-elected. She was appointed to the post earlier this year on an interim basis, pending election or not. If not elected, she would have remained in her prior post of chief deputy.
Also, the clerk's office didn't leave the candidates off the ballot, it had them running by district instead of at-large. More directly put, it left them off some of the Newberg ballots when they should have been appearing on all of the Newberg ballots.
Finally, it's awfully hard to hold someone accountable when the screwup doesn't become known until long after the filing deadline, by which point ballots had already been mailed to voters. Unfortunate, I think, but circumstances made it hard to fully evaluate the snafu and incorporate it into voting decision.
Like it or not, I think voters are going to have to wait four years and evaluate the totality of her performance at that point.

Sbagwell,
Thank you for the clarifications. At least this case doesn't reek of partisan meddling to disadvantage an opponent in an election by putting the wrong ink cartridges in the voting machines of your opponent for Governor's home precinct. At some point the confidence in the integrity and legitimacy of elections will be so severely compromised that politics will be waged by other means.

So nice to see veiled threats of violence in the comment section. A little help here from the N-R policy board on user comments would be nice.

Apparently veiled threats of violence are A-Ok won this forum as well as suggesting a person with mental health issues be given a shotgun and be sent to a federal judges home.
