Sidebarr ed foundation grants

The McMinnville Education Foundation distributed about $19,000 in grants for the 2024-25 school year. In the last 25 years, the foundation has provided more than $400,000 in mini grants of $1,000 or less apiece to teachers and schools.

Projects funded this year and amounts they received include:

Grandhaven Elementary: A Novel Idea: A Walk in Their Shoes Through Diverse Perspectives, $626; Math in a Snap: Shut the Box Challenge!, $562.25.

Memorial Elementary: Ukuleles and Bow Buddies, OH MY!, $958.

Newby Elementary: Orff Instruments for Newby Elementary, $914.51; Puppets & Possibilities: A Joyful Journey in Learning and Emotions, $250.

Wascher Elementary: Junior Journalists, $500.

Willamette Elementary: Published Authors, $492.82.

Patton Middle School: What’s Made in McMinnville?, $867.24; Night of the Notables, $1,000; expanding the Disc Golf Club, $560; Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics, $962.74.

McMinnville High School: New York Times digital newspaper subscription, $982.80; Raise the Roof: amplify indigenous stories and symbols, $1,000; Creating Opportunity, $910.20; Grizzly Robotics: Into the Deep, $1,000; CTP Print Shop 2.0, $995.86; Empowering Attention and Deep Thinking, $1,000; Portland Art Museum: the Photography of Paul McCartney and Psychedelic Posters, $950.00; after-school jewelry fabrication, $1,000; Emergency Services Nutritional Wellness, $575.
