Linfield hosts basketball camp at Duniway
Linfield College’s third annual basketball camp for boys and girls in grades 2-6 is scheduled to take place over three separate periods this summer at Duniway Middle School, 575 N.W. Michelbook Lane, McMinnville.
Camps will be held June 27-30, July 18-21, and August 8-11; sessions will occur from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
Young basketball players of all experience levels will develop new skills and refine existing skills under the instruction of Linfield men’s basketball head coach Shanan Rosenberg and assistant coach Mickey Polis.
Cost is $75 per session. Space is limited, and potential attendees are encouraged to sign up early. Contact Coach Rosenberg at 503-883-2529 or coachrose@linfield.edu for registration. Run the Dutch 5K
Heiser’s Pumpkin Farm will play host to the second annual Run the Dutch 5K on Saturday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m.
Sponsored by Dutch Bros. Coffee and Heidi Moore of Country Financial, Run the Dutch will include caffeine stops as well as an afterparty comprised of music, coffee, local beer, and plenty of food. Interested runners can register early online or on the day of the race at 8:30 a.m. A $25 fee gets you a place in the race, a t-shirt, and inclusion in the afterparty at Heisers Farm located at 21425 SE Grand Island Loop in Dayton. Proceeds from the race are used to support the See Ya Later foundation camps, as well as other local youth activity organizations.

Mac Youth Cheer holds free clinic
Children entering grades 3-8 for the 2016-17 academic year are invited to participate in McMinnville Youth Cheerleading’s free clinic, held Saturday, April 23, at the gymnasium at Church on the Hill, 700 N.W. Hill Road, McMinnville.
The clinic will cover elements of dance, cheer, stunting, tumbling, jumps and routines. Interested parties must fill out a release form at www.macyouthcheer.com to enable their children to participate. The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to noon.

Sheridan track seeks volunteers
Sheridan High School is hosting a varsity track and field meet Thursday, April 28, at 3 p.m., and the Spartans are looking for volunteers to perform various duties during the event.
