Electric car charging app released

A new smart phone application allows electric car owners to locate, access and cover the charging fee at stations in the West Coast Electric Highway’s Fast Charging Network, which includes a station at Oregon Mutual Insurance, 400 N.E. Baker St. in McMinnville.

The PlugShare app, a joint venture of AeroVironment and Recargo, is available online from Apple and Google stores. Unlimited charging runs $19.99 a month and invidual charges run $4 at Level 2 stations and $7.50 at DC fast-charge stations.

Together, Oregon and Washington offer 59 Level 2 stations and 55 fast-charge stations at present.
