It's a mighty thin pancake that doesn't have two sides to it. We've heard the inmates side. It shouldn't be too hard to get the other side as I'll bet the place is blanketed with video cameras. Roll the video, it's completely objective.

Video only has the appearance of objectivity without really being objective. For example, it only shows where the cameras are pointed and when it is actually recording. It often (usually?) does not have sound. It is a snippet in time without showing what came before and after. And it does not include non-visual evidence. For example, a video would not show how bad food smells or tastes.

Glad this is being reported on. Shame to have such institutional brutality at all, much less in our backyard.

I believe every bit of this! This is one of the reasons I left the BOP. There are no video cameras. The only time they use a camera is when they do a forced cell move on a resisting inmate in accordance with their "Program Statements," their procedures. I left that place and went to a far more violent place! In fact, when the BOP had pretrial inmates that they could not manage or handle they sent them to us. Basically it was out of the frying pan and into the fire for me. The BOP maintains this pristine facade but once you look behind it you can see it's dirty corruption.
