His mother, Eudora Millegan, was my English teacher in junior high back in the '70s and taught every little kid in the county how to swim in the summer. She's still a legend in this community. He's disgraced his family's name. What a shyster.

Thanks Paul Daquilante/Newsroom for making some of the corrections that we pointed out.

For the record - I did respond to Paul's request for comment (he asked for the brief date/details, which is mentioned in the article & credits me) - but I was emailed at 12:17 and told they would appreciate a response before 1PM. They did not call. I saw their email later and responded after 245.

This was my comment was to Paul:

"As of today, briefs for JW's appeal are due October 18th, 2023. The appeal was filed in April of this year. We have always expected that JW will prevail with this strong appeal. I also want to reiterate that we remain strong with JW that none of these charges should have been brought in the first place. They are entirely false allegations.

While JW did owe taxes, this was never in dispute. JW accurately reported, openly acknowledged that he owed taxes, and attempted to pay them. The government even agreed that JW filed his taxes correctly every single year. What made this case even more strange was that there was never a false set of books, there was never hidden income, and there were never hidden assets. What was in dispute was willful evasion, which did not occur and which will come to light upon appeal."

We appreciate the comment on our grandmother Eudora Millegan who taught kids to swim here in town. She was an amazing woman. She taught JW and JW taught many other kids in town as well. You can find all of us at the same McMinnville pool quite often. We love our town and we are an open book for anyone who wishes to ask. Anyone who wants to join us for some evening wine and discussion on our porch downtown is more than welcome. We are between Gallery Players, the Post Office, and the Co-op Church where our grandfather Lloyd Millegan was a diaconal minister - and where JW has volunteered serving community breakfasts for years. That is the welcoming nature that JW instilled in us - we mean anyone.

Sincerely,

Quinn & Drew Millegan & Family

The Millegan strategy seems to be getting clearer - come up with a crazy dream, do anything/everything possible to paint it as a wonderful opportunity, and then hope people will fund it. When trouble gets in the way, keep dragging out the inevitable collapse with bizarre narration.

There are so many lessons here for kids in this community. Just work hard, tell the truth and you'll be successful. Stray off that path and you end up with this sort of chaos. The Millegans have attempted to get something for nothing, and this is the result.
