This is confusing. Aren't the ambulances a private company, one tied in with airlift? If it is private company, does this increase our taxes (AGAIN!)? And we don't know what's going to happen in the country economically in the next four years, so why talk about plans to build another fire station when we don't know if we'll be in another Depression? When people get bored, they fiddle around with things and come up with new ideas (which usually means higher taxes). We're already moving the fire department to the airport....how much more does THAT cost? And we haven't received a refund for the tax overlap when voters approved the new fire district.

And what's this talk about we're still paying for the former fire district? I thought Tricky Dick was no longer among us. Or is it politicians as a class....

In the history of the Mac Fire Department/District the ambulances have never been private, always part of the department/district. Since about 1924 I recall.

Do not abandon Station 12 on Baker Creek Road as it is closer than any other stations to this large service area.
