Sheriff's office receives donated hand sanitizer
Rose City Distilling of Tigard has donated four cases of homemade hand sanitizer to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
“We got 48 pint bottles,” Capt. Chris Ray said. “It was enough to issue one to every deputy and sergeant on patrol.”
To manufacture the product, which must be at least 70-percent alcohol, the company adds water to alcohol, a thickening agent, scent and food coloring, after which it is blended and bottled.
Rose City can produce 1,000 bottles daily, and has also provided the Portland Police Bureau with a supply.
There is a shortage of hand sanitizer across the county.
