McMinnville bicyclist struck by school bus

A 7-year-old McMinnville boy riding a bicycle was struck about 8 a.m. Thursday at Northwest Second and Fenton streets by a First Student "short" school bus.

Capt. Tim Symons of the McMinnville police described it as a "low impact" incident. He said the unidentified boy was transported by McMinnville Fire Department ambulance to the Willamette Valley Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

The bus driver, Terresa Mae Anderson, 57, of McMinnville, was stopped on Fenton facing southbound. When she turned westbound onto Fenton, she collided with the bicyclist.

He was wearing a helmet and no citations were issued. Traffic was partially rerouted for a short period of time.
