Mac Plaid Pantry robbed at gunpoint

McMinnville’s Plaid Pantry convenience store, located at Notheast 19th and Baker streets, was robbed at gunpoint about 5:30 a.m. Monday.

A man garbed all in black entered the store and confronted the clerk with a dark-colored handgun. He was wearing gloves, a face mask and hooded sweatshirt with pants featuring a white patch on the left front and black patch on the right rear.

He took less than $100 in cash, which he stuffed into a jacket pocket as he headed to a waiting car on 19th Street.

The car, which had no wheel coverings, was described as a small, light-colored four-door sedan, perhaps a Toyota Corolla or Geo Prism. Surveillance video showed it speeding west.

Anyone with information is asked to contact McMinnville police Detective Sam Elliott at sam.elliott@ci.mcminnville.or.usor call the department’s anonymous tip line at 503-434-2337.
