McMinnville Library hosts October kickball tournament

The inaugural Kick It for the Library tournament will be held at Joe Dancer Park on Oct. 4- 5. Games begin at 3 p.m. on Oct. 5. Co-ed teams of between nine and 16 players, with at least four women, can register online at www.kick-it-for.org or on the first day of the event from 1-2:30 p.m. Team registration costs $200. Tournament proceeds will benefit the Plaza Enhancement Project at the McMinnville Public Library.

 

15th Annual Backwards Open is Sept. 28

Yamhill County Special Olympics will host the 15th annual Backwards Open golf tournament at the Bayou Golf Club on Sunday, Sept. 28.The tournament will play a scramble format with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Registration costs $35 and includes lunch at the Mac Club restaurant. Hole sponsorships are also available for $25 per hole. For more information, contact Terri Richards at 503-472-2428

 

YCSA range available for sighting-in this weekend

The Yamhill County Sportsman’s Association’s private range will be open to the public this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13-14, for the sighting of hunting rifles. Targets and other equipment will be provided. Cost is $5 per gun. NRA range safety rules will be observed.
