Patton one of several Oregon schools that received threatening call
Police were called to Patton Middle School about 2:15 Wednesday afternoon after the school received an anonymous, threatening phone call. However, school and law enforcement officials determined the threat was not credible and students were not in danger.
Patton was one of several schools in Northwest Oregon to receive the calls today. Last spring, numerous schools, including Grandhaven Elementary in McMinnville, received such calls.
This time, schools in Hillsboro, Milwaukie and Salem also received threatening calls.
Patton classrooms were locked down during the initial investigation. School was dismissed on time and buses ran on regular schedules. Afternoon activities continued normally.
The school district called parents and sent home a letter detailing the incident.
The matter remains under investigation.
