Yamhill council to discuss police fee

The public meeting will be held via Zoom. A link is available on the city website,

The city is proposing the fee to provide additional money for police equipment, supplies and other needs. Chief Greg Graven said the fee would add about $25,000 in its first year to supplement the budget.

Citizens at a recent public forum were divided on their support. Many said it was a small price to pay to keep the city’s police department; others said feared the fee would quickly increase.

At the Wednesday meeting, council members also will discuss a possible stormwater utility fee and changes to the water rate schedule.
