I assume the damage/ cleanup cost from the fire was covered by insurance, and any lease payments should have continued....if true, sounds like Mr. Thomas is looking for an extra payday.....

The building owner can recover no more than his actual loss, so he must have been underinsured.

Oregonborn—I know only what I read in the article....that’s why I added the disclaimer of “I assume” and “If true”......
If the damages were indeed covered by insurance coverage and the owner sues for additional damages.....what motivation do you think would drive the litigation?
