Kathryn Mary Williams - 1947-2018
Kathryn Mary Williams was born in 1947 to Ernest and Martha Williams in McMinnville, Oregon. At a young age, she moved with her family to Burbank, California, where she spent most of her life. Her parents divorced in 1950, and in 1951, Martha married Paul Bixby, the man Kathryn would know and call her father. Kathryn graduated from St. Robert Bellarmine High School in 1965. After graduating, Kathryn started her career at Chubb Insurance as a claims adjuster, working her way up to be a corporate auditor. After 40 years, she retired. Although Kathryn never married, family was very important to her, and she loved and cared for her cousins, nieces, and nephews as if we were her own kids. Kathryn loved all animals, but her pet of choice was always a dog, and Walter the Westie was her favorite.
In 1971, Kathryn met Diane Engals, and they became best friends. Kathryn and Diane loved to travel; one of their favorite places was England, and the trip she talked about most was the visit to Liverpool to see where one of her favorite bands, The Beatles, came from. After retiring, Kathryn moved to McMinnville and built her dream house in 2012. Kathryn is survived by her mother, Martha Bixby; Diane Engals; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Bixby, in 2011. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. James youth group could be made in her honor.
