Somebody didn't get paid.

Why are we mad at The Oak? They've let the bartender in question go. Shouldn't the attention be focused on the perp? It says in the article that they "have not been contacted regarding any previous unlawful or inappropriate behavior associated with Turk."

I agree “Native”....seems like the outrage is a bit is directed....

**mis- directed**

So Turk is gone -- the Oak owners did the right thing -- will this be enough or will fines or closure of the business be the only solution for some?

Joel R

Looks like they forgot to wear their masks.

Joel R -- nothing applies if you are demonstrating (see Portland's summer of 20).

I don't understand this statement from the Elmers:

Denny said for anyone to think they have been aware that a former employee was drugging women in the bar, were not aware of what was happening and/or ignored that type of behavior is “so out of bounds in our world.”

There isn't an open quote (") so I'm not sure where the direct quote from Denny Elmer begins, but he's portrayed as having said that 'for anyone to think they have been aware of a former employee drugging women[....], were not aware of what was happening and/or ignored [it]" is preposterous. So which is it? Is it crazy to think they were aware the bartender was a possible rapist, or is it crazy to think that they were not aware? The message is important and the wording reported here is literally as vague as it can be.

Whatever the case, though, it's good to see the protesters were orderly and maintained their distance from each other.

Was this newsworthy? Clearly the allegations may be, but why picket the bar? Slow news day I guess.

Leave the business alone, they did the right thing. Demand the local law enforcement look into it but the business owners discharged an employee immediately when the allegation was brought up. Not sure why they should be expected to do anything else?
