Sounds good to me. But who will be in charge of problems with free running dangerous dogs ? Does somebody know ?

Stella

Totally unacceptable. If you had a working dog Control you would have $. Why should people license dogs when it isn't enforced?

Stella

Police Officers have better things to do than handle dog calls (because we no longer have dog control officer to handle them).

Polk County has a Dog Control Officer... pathetic

Nick

It sounds like the first step would be modernizing the license system so you could get your license online. Right now, I suspect very few people actually pay the license fee.

Great idea but until you pay for an officer who checks up on licenses vs leaving it publically known as the honor system nothing will change.

Sad fact is that at one time Dog Control was self funded costing us zero. To get it going again will cost $ but once up and running could easily pay for itself.

I feel for the police officers having to deal with the numerous dog Control responsibilities... it's costing us all more $ and when someone eventually gets bit by a rabid dog the County will be held responsible. Honor system for rabies vac & license isn't working.
