Laverne M. Teter Bean Hosford - 1922-2018

LaVerne M. Teter Bean Hosford, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went home to be with Our Lord Saturday, August 25, 2018, just one week after her 96th birthday, surrounded by her family and friends. LaVerne was born August 18, 1922, to Marshal and Pearl Teter in Rickreall, Oregon.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her son, Thomas J. Bean Sr., in 2007; son, Francis E. “Frank” Bean, in 2016; daughter, Ellen D. Bean Campbell Fischer, in 2016; and son-in-law, David “Duke” Olson, in 2017. Surviving children are Donna Bean Grishaber Stronach, Linda Bean Hostler Olson, Joyce Bean Kirk (Joseph); adopted daughter, Dee West; longtime caretaker and companion, Diana Edwards, all of Grand Ronde, Oregon. This amazing matriarch is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
All her life she was known for her sewing skills. She made Native American ribbon shirts, quilts, vests, ties, clothes and pillows.
At LaVerne’s request, there will be no funeral service; she will be placed with her children at the Grand Ronde Cemetery with a remembrance dinner to follow her inurnment.
