Y-C students perform 'Fiddler' musical

CARLTON -- Yamhill-Carlton elementary and intermediate school students are presenting "Fiddler on the Roof, Jr."at a dinner theater tonight, June 3.

The meal and performance will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the same location. Tickets are $20 for adaults, $15 for seniors and $12 for children.

Teacher Brenda Longton is directing the musical, which features about 80 youngsters.

"Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.," is a slightly scaled down version of the classic musical about Russian Jews in 1905 who are trying to maintain their religious traditions in the wake of societal change. Tevye (Joey Jones) also worries about the future of his five daughters during the turmoil.

The Y-C show features period costumes that help create the setting of the show.
