Linfield hosts first all-sports clinic
The Linfield College athletic program will host their inaugural Play Like a Wildcat all-sports clinic from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 for boys and girls in kindergraten through eighth grade.
Volunteers from the women’s basketball, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, softball and volleyball programs, as well as the cheer team and athletic training program, will be on hand to provide instruction. Cost is $10 and includes a T-shirt and a picture with Linfield’s mascot, Mack the Wildcat.

Parks & Rec holds baseball, softball registration
The McMinnville Parks & Recreation department is continuing to register interested children for baseball and softball for its 2016 spring season.
Girls in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to play softball through Parks & Rec, while boys in pre-kindergraten through sixth grade are eligible to play baseball. The registration deadline is March 31; the softball and baseball seasons run from May 14 to July 16.

Montessori school hosts April races
The McMinnville Montessori School will present the 6th Annual Discover Spring Run on Saturday, April 23 at Discovery Meadows Community Park in McMinnville.
Races of 10, 5k and one mile all begin at 9 a.m. with a kids’ fun run at 10:30 a.m. The 10k and 5k races cost $35 for adults and $15 for children under 18; the one mile run and the kids fun run are $10 for all participants. Preregistration and day-of-race registration are available.

CASA Classic Golf Tournament June 11
The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Yamhill County (CASA) is holding its 12th Annual CASA Classic Golf Tournament fundraiser Saturday, Jun 11, at Michelbook Country Club, 1301 NW Michelbook Lane, McMinnville.
The tournament operates under an 18-hole scramble format with a shotgun start. The tournament will also feature gift bags, mulligans, raffles and on-course games.
Cost of participation is $90 per person, including 18 holes of golf, a cart, range balls, dinner and other prizes. Check-in for the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. on June 11, with a start time of 1 p.m.

Senior Men’s Golf Club seeks members
The McMinnville Senior Men’s Golf Club is extending its membership to interested golfers from Yamhill County and surrounding areas ages 55 and older.
The Senior Men’s Golf Club’s 2016 season begins April 18 and ends Oct. 28, with an end-of-year banquet to follow. Members regularly play events at Chehalem Glenn Golf Course in Newberg (Mondays), Cross Creek Golf Course in Dallas (Wednesdays) and Bayou Golf Course in McMinnville (Fridays) and travel to courses outside the area for seven events. Members are charged a fee of $65.
