Highway 22 reopens following fatal crash

SHERIDAN -- One person died Thursday morning in a fiery crash on Highway 22  about five miles east of the Highway 18 junction and just west of Red Prairie Road.

Emergency crews reported that two vehicles hit head-on about 9:15 a.m. At least one other victim was taken to a hospital via an ambulance for treatment of injuries from the collision.

The highway was closed for about five hours, with traffic detoured onto other roads.
