Parker’s Run May 9 at Evergreen Museum

Parker’s Run, a fundraising event in honor of Linfield College football player Parker Moore, will take place Saturday, May 9, at 9 a.m. at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, 500 N.E. Captain Michael King Smith Way, McMinnville.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Evergreen; the 5,000-meter run begins at 9 a.m., with a kids’ race to follow at 10 a.m. Cost is $25 ($15 for Linfield students with proper identification) and $5 for kids. Proceeds from the event benefit the Parker Archie Moore Memorial Fund, which awards scholarships to Linfield students.

Mac girls basketball holds flower fundraiser

The McMinnville High School girls basketball program will be selling hanging flower baskets from Al’s Garden (both shade and sun for $20 and $30) in the First Federal Parking Lot on the corner of 3rd  Street and Baker on Saturday, May 9.  The sale begins at 9 a.m.  Please come down to buy a basket, help support the girls basketball program, and make your mom very happy. 

 

Willamina Youth All-Comers meet May 12

Willamina Track and Field will host a youth (age 14 and under) all-comers track meet Tuesday, May 12 from 4:30-7 p.m., at Willamina High School.

A $2 entry fee allows participants to enter as many events as they’d like. Races will be conducted by age-group, field events will be open pits with three jumps or throws per athlete.

McMinnville Youth Cheerleading will host a free clinic Saturday, May 16 at Church on the Hill in McMinnville from 2-5p.m.

Tenth annual Stoller Vineyard Run May 30

The 10th Annual Stoller Vineyard 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Stoller Estate, 16161 NE McDougall Rd in Dayton. A kids’ mile event will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Registration is $20 for the 5K and $5 for the kids’ run, with all proceeds supporting Dayton High School girls basketball and track programs.

McMinnville Sprint Triathlon on May 30

This year marks the sixth year of the Annual McMinnville Sprint Triathlon presented by the McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department. The race takes place in the aquatic center, through some city streets, and out into Yamhill County on May 30.

It consists of a 500-yard swim, 12.1-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. There is only room for 200 total participants, and we have already filled half of them. You can sign up at www.signmeup.com and search for McMinnville.
