It's important to remember that the confederate flag that we see today was designed by William Thompson who, in his own words, said the purpose of the flag was to symbolize the "heaven ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race...". It originated as a symbol of hate and remains so today.

Our schools need to enrich all of our kids, not just the white ones. The only place kids should see that disgusting, traitorous flag is in a history book or a museum.
