Based on his "community involvement" entry in the county voters pamphlet, Mr. Johnston appears to have the credentials for office. Not only is he a donor to both the American Association of State Troopers and Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police, he is a Wilco Co-op member.

Gun regulation on a county by county basis makes little sense.... and attempting to circumvent State & Federal law is a waste of time and taxpayer money. Let’s vote for commissioners that will attend to county issues.

You can't protect or strengthen gun rights on the county level. However, all you need to do is say you will and people in good ol' Yamhill county will vote for you. He's taken a chapter right out of the Starett/Bersch playbook...
