Back in the 70s, the club had the opportunity to purchase the Bayou for $100K. Some members that worked downtown complained a trip to the Bayou for lunch would not be attractive to them. So the club instead remodeled the downtown building, apparently based on those complaints.

That decision came back to haunt the club as younger members began to leave the organization. Just wonder what the membership would be now if the club owned the golf course and restaurant today.
