Dayton to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Dayton will host a Cinco de Mayo festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in the city park.

A parade is scheduled at 1 p.m. through town. Dance Folklorico will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. in the park. Music will be playing from 2 to 5 p.m.

Vendors will sell food and souvenirs.

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the battle of the poorly armed Mexican forces over the French in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Dayton’s event is open to the public without charge.
