Many won't care how damaging it will be to nix the expertise and connections of SEDCOR in favor of going it alone, but Malheur County should have been a cautionary tale against go it alone project management of large grants. https://www.salemreporter.com/2022/10/12/more-contract-troubles-dog-smith-in-public-work-as-business-awarded-without-bidding/

How much money are businesses in this county going to lose out on in terms of lost grants and economic development opportunity because of Starrett and Berscauer's incompetence and focus on extremist pet projects instead of doing their jobs?

BigfootLives

It sounds like they are doing their jobs, breaking a contract with a vendor who they felt were not the services needed. If this were anyone other than Starrett and Berschauer breaking a contract with a county vendor I wonder if it would get the same outcry.

News Flash: Mary Starrett saves drowning boy at the Aquatic Center!
NR Headline: Starrett throws young boy out of public pool.

Yes, Bigfoot, if there is one thing we have seen from you its tolerance of the party you don’t support. You never criticize kulla. Oh wait, I think that’s all I’ve ever seen you do.

"MS demands payment from parents before jumping into pool to save boy". There. I fixed it.

We are so screwed without Casey Kulla or anybody with even half a brain. Bravo to SEDCOR for having legitimate excuses for every one of Starrett's and Berschauer's complaints and accusations. SEDCOR only magnified S & B's complete ineptitude as commissioners. Go back to Faces and Places on TV, Mary.

You might not agree with the system where local governments give bonuses to businesses moving into their communities. However, without a statewide effort, all this is going to do is give other communities the leg up in attracting businesses to former mill sites or available properties. I appreciate their attitude, but like many things, the actions are misguided. I fear all this is going to do is leave our mill property in Newberg vacant for longer and overall hurt economic development recruitment in Yamhill County.
