Saturday 'No Kings' rally will feature themed blocks
Editor's Note: A short, complementary event will be held at 11:15 a.m. along Second Street just past the Hillside Communities entrance, for people without the transportation or capacity to attend the larger event.

A No Kings rally in McMinnville Saturday, March 28, will feature different themes on each block.
On two of the blocks, protesters will wear frog costumes or frog-covered clothing. The theme is “Frogs Together Strong.”
Other blocks carry red, white and blue themes with meanings such as “Pro America” or “Anti Trump.” Some have “peace” or “no war” themes.
The McMinnville rally will run from 1 to 3 p.m. from Second to Fifth streets on Baker Street and from Second to 16th Street on Adams Street. Another No Kings rally will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Newberg.
The Progressive Yamhill Facebook page provides details about the local No Kings rallies, which are part of a nationwide movement.
In a comment on the page, Progressive Yamhill encouraged people to join the event. “We support everyone’s right to peacefully stand up publicly for their values,” the comment says.

Big never backs up any of his(?) ridiculous comments with any thing verifiable. Lots of talk, never any factual information. It is much more fun to just make crap up. Funny that the basic premise is that only Democrats are in the demonstration is so wrong. Maybe Big should attend and see who is really there.

Fellow patriots – the gathering was spectacular! Of course we may not recognize each other but the spirit of community was nonetheless present and vibrant. We The People are willing to put in the work to reclaim our democratic republic, each in our own way. I was proud to stand in solidarity with all of you!

Everybody had such great signs and costumes. I even got a blessing from the pope for our fantastic donuts that we were handing out.
Tons of honks and waves....great support from almost everyone that drove by.

Hey Otis ~ sorry I missed out on the donuts, (and maybe meeting you?) but the attendance was huge, it stretched for blocks and blocks on different streets so I was unable to cover all that ground. What a varied and joyful gathering. Young, old, kids, dogs, frogs – our spirits were elevated by community and common cause. The perfect antidote to fear or despair. Millions of us all over the country (and the world) refusing to bow down. That has been the American way, protected by the Constitution, since we rejected a king 250 years ago.
Hello “B” ~ I suppose we CAN agree that “spectacular” is in the eye of the beholder? Beyond that, your post makes no sense. I said I was proud to be in the company of fellow patriots. Nothing in those words called anyone else’s patriotism into question, much less “99%” of my fellow citizens. (And if you are alluding to Americans who actually still support trump, I believe the most recent polls show the number is roughly a third of the voters and declining.) We obviously have differing opinions about politics. I will suggest there was nothing to be gained by distorting my words.
As for the delusional flames that appear here from time to time, seems like there is nothing to be gained by irrational confrontational hissy fits either?
