So Huffer claims it takes him six months to formulate a plan? There is no excuse for that. Incompetence, period. He's getting paid $150K plus benefits to do a job. If this grant went through the budget process already, then the elements of the plan are likely already there. Shouldn't take six months to get funds out, especially to the hard working staff of Yamhill County. If the other counties can develop and implement a plan, why couldn't Yamhill County? Answer, it's not a priority. More important things I guess like a useless gun ordinance that will never stand. Starrett and Berschauer need to stop wasting time and start focusing on the important things - like the County employees. Its supposed to be their job.

Because MS and LB think crazy people with access to guns is a good thing. It makes everyone else want a gun to defend themselves from armed lunatics shooting up schools/concerts/ballgames/churches. This makes them $$$ as they watch their gun stock portfolios increase in value right after another mass shooting. "Profits over People" is the MAGA way.

Once again, Starrett and Berschauer prove their unwillingness to help the overall community. They prefer to pander only to their own followers rather than doing what is right for the entire county. These two commissioners and most of the republican party are constantly harping about "it's not guns, it's mental health". But when it comes to providing access to mental health, or resources for those working in the mental health field, these commissioners and most of the republican party appear to be working diligently to withhold those resources. It is irresponsible at best, vile and inhumane at worst. I wish I could say it surprises me that these two commissioners care more about their pet causes (aka GUNS) than they do the citizens of this county, but alas it is no surprise at all.

Isn't he a commissioner as well? Is he not fully engaged, or did he not have time to check feedback from Progressive Yamhill before the NR quote was due?

Its 3 and a half million dollars, get it right before signing checks. But, get it right. And I am sorry for the rising cost of EVERYTHING, it sucks for everyone. Stop voting democrat.

So according to Bigfootlives if we stop voting for Democrats everything will be wonderful lol.... sure let's also keep voting & re-electing the 2 wingnuts already on the council as they have made our County so much better. We can complain or we can actually get out and vote and since the voting percentage was so slow, I assume all anyone in this County wants to do is complain.

Maddie s daddy. The stop voting democrat comment refers to the current disaster that the county employees were complaining about. If you cannot see the train wreck the last 18 months of that stuttering old crook (nicest thing I could say) has led to record inflation, gas prices, % rates, and more that a few economists see us and most of the world heading to a depression. And no, Putin had nothing to do with it.

And it seems the more people that get out to vote the worse the liberal candidate or causes do. Look at the failed recalls as evidence. The lib base is McMinnville an parts of Dundee newberg. Drag the entire county together and you lose.

There is no reason to tie up funds that are already designated for exactly what's specified. Get their heads out of their backends, buck up, shape up, and get those funds accessed! No planning or allotment required. Other Counties have already accessed and implemented their funds.
