County reports 48 new COVID-19 cases

The increase brings the county to a total to date of 4,435.

Last Monday, May 3, the county reported 47 new cases. It reported 53 on Monday, April 26; 46 on Monday, April 19, and 25 on Monday, April 12.

There have been 75 deaths in the county.

Oregon saw five weeks of steady increases in new cases before seeing a slight decline in the first week of May.

Statewide, as of Sunday, Oregon had reported 191,405 cases, and 2,530 deaths.

Hospitalizations rose above 300 again over the weekend. However, the governor typically does not announce changes in county risk levels until Tuesday.

According to the Oregon Health Authority, the county has now given at least one dose of vaccine to 44,194 residents as of Monday.
