Even though the candidates back then LOOKED more alike does not mean that they were not diverse. I get so tired of this modern-day idea that the only way you can prove your organization or political arena are "diverse" is by showing all the different colors of skin or gender. Why is it always about skin color or gender in today's media? People can be diverse in a million other ways. You can have 10 white candidates with very diverse backgrounds politically, socioeconomically, religiously, philosophically, physically and each have their own unique life struggles, whether it be personal family tragedies, physical disabilities, or other trials that every human faces, no matter what color or gender they are.
