So the Oregon Senate wants to pass a bill that raises taxes to bail out ODOT and increases the cost of living for all Oregonians. The monkey with the wrench is the 18 votes needed for passage, and one D senator is out recovering from an operation (he is the 18th vote). And the gov. has again extended the 'special session' (it's at least Sept. 29 now)

I have to assume optics no longer matter. Otherwise, the gov. wouldn't employ such a partisan attempt to get her way, especially after most of the testimony before the legislature was opposed. At this point, Kotek seems to care little about how to fix ODOT, and is only focused on more Benjamins, your Benjamins.

Don Dix- you are spot on. Kotek has postponed the vote twice until her 18th vote can return and clinch passage of this monstrous bill that will saddle Oregonians with an additional $42 a month in taxes and fees.

I URGE EVERYONE TO WRITE TO ALL OREGON SENATORS and plead with them to vote NO.

It is good, right and salutary Mayors: Morris, Malcomson, King and Rosacker are now 'concerned' with the financial collapse of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

[HB 2025 (2025)], [HB 3991 (2025)] and [HB 3992 (2025)] addressed the woes of ODOT to all Oregonians. Many Oregonians tendered Testimonies to the Legislature.

Of the Four (4) Mayors identified in the Ms. Bonsant's article, only Mayor Malcomson tendered Testimony on [HB 2025 (2025)]. Mayor Malcomson did not tender Testimonies to [HB 3991 (2025)] and [HB 3992 (2025)].

Mayors: Rosacker, King and Morris did not tender Testimonies to [HB 2025 (2025)], [HB 3991 (2025)] and [HB 3992 (2025)].

**At issue, Governor Kotek and the Legislature should have known of ODOT's financial status at the beginning of the [2025 Regular Session] and made solving the financial collapse of ODOT via reallocation of Taxpayer Funds from 'TriMet,' and other 'Bloated' Departments an immediate priority to make ODOT whole and then address the Audit of ODOT.

***The issue of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) attached to all State Government Contracts by Governor Kotek's [Executive Order 24-31] make all State Construction projects much more expensive to the taxpayers but is a clever way to groom and harvest Union Votes.

As to the 'Senate Meeting' today, review the footage of the meeting. View the President of the Senate shucking' and jiving' with what appears to be a State Senator, then practices his golf-swing and performs a couple of 'questionable' physical gyrations. The 'Meeting,' canceled due to a lack of a Quorum.
