Since 1998, the McMinnville Education Foundation (MEF) has expanded the range of educational opportunities available to students by encouraging excellence, innovation, and creativity in the McMinnville School District.

MEF raises funds each year to provide educational experiences for students including Science Experiences, the Artist in Resident Program, Field Trips, and the Oregon Battle of the Books Program; and to grow the Endowment Fund. Yearly Grants are provided to MSD Educators to foster and support creative ideas that will improve students' education. Since 2000, MEF has awarded 680 Grants totaling over $610,000 to teachers for programs benefiting students in all McMinnville Schools and at all grade levels.
