I believe the centers should be near the hospital or other medical facilities (along highway 18?). Also, they should probably have an overnight accommodation an with an attendant on duty.

Well, the homeless and drug addict population will increase or become worse now. There is a reason these were coined "magic mushrooms,' what is the next step? Legalizing crack? Sorry, but I don't understand why this even passed. People who have ACTUAL need for this is one thing, but there is always a loop hole and we see too many mental health situations being abused for the drugs that are available. Let me ask this, when is Diabetes going to take center stage where it is affordable for everyone and is handed out like methadone is, free to those who "need" it?

There may be a place for this kind of medication, it is in a hospital under direct supervision for a small amount of time. Not as an outpost center.

Folks....please invest your time into learning about these new mental health treatments. The research is valid and has shown to not just mask the symptoms of mental health disorders the way current medications do....but actually aid into healing the wounds that cause the deep wounds of people that lead to homelessness and mental health crises. What if we could aid in eliminating just 10% of people living on the streets, aid in recovering 10% of addiction, 10% of mental disorders with these medications - wouldn't that be a start? There are documentaries on Netflix currently and several books being written by psychologists - The Body Keeps the Score - that show that doctors have been trying for years to change the field of psychology and how people are treated since the Vietnam war that led to PTSD being included as a real disorder. That took over thirty years to move that bureaucratic ship.

Maybe Ken Kesey was on to something.

Megmaa, for the record I do look into items such as these. I have had friends and family, just like I assume many others, who have suffered from PTSD and mental health disorders. I also have seen where the medications given actually mask the issue rather than treat it, that is usually called treating the symptom and not the problem. So where, in all the studies, are the methadone clinics that were supposed to help people become sober from heroin? Addiction is real, I am not down playing that. PTSD and mental health issues are real as well. What I don't understand is why, in this day and age, a person has to pay out the nose, or go without a meal a day, to afford insulin to survive.. SURVIVE the day, when others are out there getting for free something that they don't need to survive.

Show me in all the studies, their plan to keep this type of medication under control? Wasn't medical marijuana supposed to be like that? Or methadone? With the fentanyl crisis going on now, same thing- it was supposed to be only for medical use, but wow... how many people are dying on the street from this as well?

There is a study or documentary that can justify anything you want, you just have to look for it.

For sure Megmaa, people need to understand the process of this treatment. Crazy how uneducated people think they know it all. I think medicine created by Earth/God and not a "harmaceutical" company should be worth a try. Studies have shown a very high rate of success.

Megmaa, 100% agree. This natural medicine could go a long way in helping folks with PTSD and depression. Starrett should be supporting this issue as she is a HUGE proponent of homeopathic treatments.
