Wyden holds more town halls each year than any other US senator. He does so because his actual residence is in NYC. This is how he proves to us Oregonians that he represents us. What a joke.

Senator Wyden's town halls are highly informative (also civil and well organized) and we are very fortunate to be represented by someone who sincerely wants to know what his constituents care about, someone who takes the time to listen and to keep us informed.

This Oregonian feels well-represented and grateful. I look forward to Saturday.

Wyden is absolutely worthless to this state. He votes straight partisan lines, lives in New York full time, and worry’s about other states and global issues instead of taking care of Oregon.

Oregonian

Wyden just spoke at a town hall in Newberg. Someone should point out to him that Newberg and McMinnville are both in Yamhill County so he doesn't waste his time hitting the county twice in one calendar year.

As the notice points out, Wyden has vowed to hold “at least” one meeting in each county each year. He never said only one meeting. I have been involved in a number of county wide organizations and without fail, we have groups (and meetings) in McMinnville and Newberg. And.....how could it ever be a waste of time for him to devote time to our county. One more thing: yes, he does involve himself in regional and global issues. He has been a champion for monitoring leakage of potentially radioactive materials into the ground water at Hanford which DOES affect us.

Since when is connecting, listening and having a dialog with your constituents a joke?

Mudstump- You missed the point entirely

Really? I see one point...is there another?

Seems to me that residence should have some relevance, but hey what do I know.

Obviously, you don't know about Sen. Wyden's residences.

Wyden owns a home in the Eastmoreland neighborhood in Portland. He also owns a home in DC. He does work at lot in DC you know. He was elected to represent us in DC and that is all the way across the country.

It is my understanding that members of Congress are required to maintain a home in their home state. It's common for them to purchase a home in DC. If they have family what would you have them do...sleep in his office with his spouse and kids?

Oregonian

His home is in Manhattan. That's where he spends his time when he isn't in DC. He may own houses all over Oregon but that doesn't make Oregon his primary home. He's a New Yorker who is trying to appear to be an Oregonian. The town hall meetings are a dog and pony show he puts on in an attempt to avoid criticism for not living here.

Mudstump

Oregonian - ....aren't you fortunate then that Sen. Wyden is holding a number of town halls giving you the opportunity to ask him about this in person.

Drew1951

Wyden’s wife is from NYC. Perhaps that offers a clue to a residence in NYC........except they sold their home there in 2016. I admire the man......a 70 year old with 12 year old twins and a 7 year old. Go Ron!

Oregonian

In Wyden's mind, it is less painful to do record-setting town hall meetings than to actually live in the state you represent.
