Dog control is absolutely a crucial service. County Commissioners!!! FUND THE YAMHILL COUNTY DOG CONTROL!!! One way or the other, there should be enough of the taxpayers money to fund the service. Quit trying to drum up NEW WINE COUNTRY business and take care of the business at hand. DOG CONTROL and the EVER GROWING TRANSIENT ISSUE.

Never has this County enforced licenses - never. Get out there and pound the pavement and bring in license $ and it will pay for itself.

Shame on our two Commissioners who voted for a trail when our County is suffering with campers and police officers running around picking up dogs.

Homeward Bound should remain "non profit" and the Sheriffs office should be funded to get Dog Control back up and running.

I wrote already about my experience some time ago when I found an abandoned dog. No help from dog control was available at that time. We n e e d a dog control which is working !!

Stella the money for the trail and the money for dog control are 2 different things. The council does not take from one to the other. I'm not sure they are allowed to. I have 2 dogs and they are licensed and up to date on vaccinations. THAT's a no brainer. We MUST have dog control. We cannot rely on facebook and texting to get the escapees back home.

I disagree the money comes from different places. There was once "X" amount the County took. The trail decision is taking ALOT of money from "X" already - way beyond our tax paid for "Grant" $

The County could take that money (for the trail) and focus on getting Dog Control back up and running. We pay taxes and it isn't being used correctly

Dog control is a public safety issue, and arguably a public health issue. I don't care who funds it. Just do it. Before someone gets hurt and everyone is pointing fingers.

If Public Safety Officers are a thing of the past and our new reality are Law enforcement officers then quit running around telling people to cut their lawns and arrest vagrants, solicitors, drug dealers and people who pose a risk. We don't need you to chase dogs around that's the job for the bleeding hearts liberals who love telling everyone else what to do to take care of .They can spend their money and give their time to socialism and stop expecting government to do it. And I agree with Stella, Yamhill County has huge problems and two commissioner's want to add an unneeded trail........

Days are numbered being a homeowner living in this town/county with no dog control and apparent no concern to clear out the homeless camps. Amazed to see multiple stray dogs DAILY?? , NO enforcing leash laws in our public parks and the homeless who are trashing up our town. I sympathize with the elderly homeless (but we have resources in this town for the truly needy) but ALL the young people who choose to live this way not wanting to participating in society = jobs & $, Not acceptable.
