Plane pull fundraiser rescheduled for September

The Oregon Plane Pull, a Special Olympics fundraiser associated with the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, has been rescheduled. Originally slated for May 2, it will instead be held Sept. 19. 

Several teams of law enforcement officers signed up to tug a plane across the tarmac at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. However, organizers felt they would draw more entries with early fall timing.

The torch run will be held July 6, serving to kick off Oregon’s annual Special Olympics competition. Officers from many local agencies plan to participate.

Teams from McMinnville, Yamhill and Newberg-Dundee police departments are planning to participate in the plane pull as well. Organizers also have a commitment from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
