Normal sewage operations resume in Lafayette

Lafayette City Administrator Branden Dross said that normal operations have resumed at the Lafayette sewage treatment plant, following a spill on Sunday evening.

People should still avoid the area of the river near south Madison Avenue, according to Dross.

About 6,000 gallons of untreated sewage spilled after debris from a beaver damn blocked a drain and caused the sewage lagoon to overflow.
