Our current housing crisis is driven by many different factors but one that is most frustrating to me is the NIMBY desire to make sure that nothing ever changes. Fear of hypothetical crime and hypothetical traffic ends up causing real harm to real working families who just need a place that they can afford to live.

The existing houses in that neighborhood that border the proposed site seem like condos....they are about 8'apart with not much yard.

Looks like a great place for the proposed project.

Funny, the land was donated to Yamhill County soil & water and they decided to sell part of it. Kinda like Miller Woods soon as they got it, they logged it.
Thank God Crownhill Farms will stay intact. I Hope!but wait till they get their hands on that 800 plus acres. Here’s another funny. I tried two different times unsuccessfully to build a home on exclusive farmland. That was a very big no go in both instances land-use lawyers wouldn’t even touch it. but that’s OK. I was not the city in McMinnville helping out another developer sponging off the housing crisis .That must be OK as long as you want to put a crappy apartment building on it. The city of McMinnville is constantly helping out developers and not the local population just like the RB rubber giving free land to an Out of state developer.I wonder if people are already forgetting about that. People for this should actually drive around McMinnville. Start looking off Hill Road, 3 mile Lane, W. Side Rd., behind Northwest Logging, The forecasted numbers are off. I’d like to know if all those apartments already constructed and in the planning and development stages are Rented?
Anybody care about kids in the meeting? Placing this next to Grand Haven Elementary?Remember “that’s young kids”what a perfect place. They can learn how to stand outside a building smoke cigarettes and then throw them on the ground. Great educational outdoor school.
So many funnies today from this article.Only guessing Tyler C and NJIN etc. do not live near the proposed site. Sounds Great but not in my backyard..

McMinnville needs housing. Apartments near services like schools makes sense. It allows easy access to schools for renters with children. We need to stop taking people seriously when they use words like renter, tenant and high density like slurs. It's a good project. Do I wish it was affordable housing rather than market rate? Absolutely, but allowing for more housing in the city is crucial. I hope to see this project move forward quickly and smoothly.
